Commercial signage doesn't have to mean boring! However there is a delicate balance between getting your message across & offering so much information that the sign becomes cluttered. If my clients don't have a concept developed before they place their order I encourage them to give me all of the information they want to present to their customers so that I can design a sign tailored to their specific needs.

Larger sub-divisions have signs indicating the neighborhood name. They are made of all kinds of materials, with different concepts. I also restore these signs, because the weather & vandals damage them, especially since they are meant to be up for many years. I also re-create signs to replace the ones that get totally destroyed.

Site signs are designed to inform the public about upcoming or ongoing construction. They can have artwork showing the architect's concept or they can simply give general information about the project & it's financing.
For temporary signs that are still weather resistant a product called Coroplast was developed. This is great for real estate, yard sales, church functions, etc. These can also be done in large quantities so they can be silk screened, which is an extremely cost effective method of advertising.
This sign was designed for a local restaurant that's located on the river. The gentleman wanted a weathered wood sign that would reflect the water front scene so that he could have a name for the smaller dining room off the side of the main dining room. My signs are custom designed not because they are exotic, but because each customer needs something that fits their particular needs. Tell me what you hope to accomplish & I will be glad to help you design the sign that fits your needs.
Historically smaller "estate signs" were a status symbol that meant that the owners had a high position in the community. Now you don't have to be a family of high position to name your property & you don't have to have a large piece of property in order to name it. Some people just have a sense of humor, others use their sign to make it easy to find their driveway, some get signs that they use on the family vacation home. We've even seen people who have home based businesses use them, it makes their business easy to find without looking too commercial.
