| Ron had become an old friend over the years, since he had asked me to help bring three other bikes together with paint work that had themes, so when he brought me this concept I was happy to take on a new challenge! Along with the bike parts he also supplied me with a print he had found on the Internet that showed a very well endowed woman in black leather that covered her from the hips down & left her breasts bare with the straps going down her sides to the waistband. Since the theme of the bike would be “Whips & Chains Excite Me!” I had to use the print as the basis for the artwork that he described to me. Complicating the design was the fact that the print only showed the woman from about the knees up. I had to design her legs and her boots in order to make her a whole person! The figure in the print didn't have a whip or a chain in her hands. Ron really didn't want her to have totally bare breasts like the print, so I designed the straps to be partially revealing as a joke but Ron liked the concept so we kept it. On the bottom left is a closeup of the belt buckle which has a ruler along the right edge of the photo. The buckle itself is just under ¾” tall at the center points. The tallest word in the center is ”HARLEY” and it is 1/8” tall! The rear fender on the upper right hand side of the page has the woman's boots taken off as if she just dropped them. In order to make sure my artwork was realistic I went shopping for tall boots one day to just take photos of them on the floor of a store. On the way I stopped to get a bite to eat at a local fast food restaurant a young couple came in on a motorcycle. The lady was wearing brown suede boots that came up to her knees. I persuaded her to remove her boots and then positioned them on the floor of the restaurant and photographed them from several angles. Between her stocking feet and me crawling around on the floor around her boots we made an interesting sight for other lunch goers! |
